Responsible Gambling
Definition
Responsible gambling is defined operationally as play conducted within deposit, stake and loss limits fixed in advance of a session, funded from a discretionary budget set apart from essential expenses, and undertaken without an expectation of systematic net winnings, since the mathematical structure of all gambling products guarantees a long-run operator advantage.
Patterns Within Normal Range and Risk Patterns
A pattern within normal range is characterised by play confined to amounts and time windows decided before the session began, no deposits beyond the pre-set budget, no borrowing or use of funds allocated to housing, food or debt obligations, stable sleep and work attendance unaffected by play, and consistent ability to stop at a session’s planned end regardless of the outcome.
A risk pattern is characterised by deposits repeated after a loss to recover it, session length extending past the time originally planned, use of borrowed money or funds earmarked for fixed obligations, concealment of the extent of play from household members, and continued play despite a stated intention to stop or despite adverse effects on sleep, work or finances.
Licensing Status
Gambling in the United Republic of Tanzania is regulated under the Gaming Act, Cap. 41 (Revised Edition 2019), by the Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT), a statutory body established under section 4 of the Act. The GBT investigates and vets applicants, issues and renews gaming licences, sets and enforces technical and advertising standards, collects gaming taxes and levies via the Tanzania Revenue Authority, administers the national self-exclusion register, and handles complaints between players and licensees.
The current licensing status of Vunjabei Bet with the Gaming Board of Tanzania — including licence number and licensing authority of record — is not independently confirmed at the time of writing and is marked to be confirmed with the operator. Players are advised to request the licence number directly from Vunjabei Bet support and to verify it against the GBT public licensee list before depositing funds.
Vunjabei Bet Control Tools
Deposit, stake and loss limits. Players may set periodic (daily, weekly or monthly) limits on deposits, on individual or cumulative stakes, and on net losses. Reductions to a set limit take effect immediately; increases are subject to a cooling-off period before taking effect, an asymmetry designed to prevent limit changes made under the influence of an active loss-chasing episode. Exact cooling-off durations are to be confirmed with the operator.
Self-exclusion. Self-exclusion can be activated by the player for a fixed minimum period through account settings or customer support; the exact minimum duration and renewal procedure are to be confirmed with the operator. During an active self-exclusion, the account is blocked from deposits and play and is removed from direct marketing and promotional communications. Early cancellation of an active self-exclusion is not available before the selected period elapses; this restriction is a standard feature of self-exclusion mechanisms and is confirmed as non-negotiable regardless of the player’s request during the exclusion period.
Session alerts. The platform issues on-screen reminders of elapsed session time and cumulative deposits or losses at intervals configurable by the player, prompting an explicit decision to continue or to stop; exact default intervals and configuration options are to be confirmed with the operator.
Indicators of Problem Behaviour
Indicators of problem gambling behaviour include, without being limited to: financial indicators such as depositing beyond a pre-set budget, borrowing to fund play, missed bill payments, and undisclosed debt; behavioural indicators such as chasing losses with further deposits, session lengths that repeatedly exceed the planned duration, concealment of account activity from household members, and neglect of work or family obligations; and emotional indicators such as irritability when unable to play, anxiety tied to outcomes, and continued play despite a stated intention to stop. Any combination of these indicators warrants contact with the resources listed below.
